Bike to Work Movement Wins Race
almost 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 10, 2020 at 05:06:48 AM

Greetings (Shell)backers!

THANK YOU and congratulations to all for making the Shellback Bike to Work backpack a tremendous success!  At the campaign close a couple minutes ago, we had 223 backers from 17 countries who helped exceed our funding goal by over $4,000 USD!!  It is an incredible testament to the GrüneStrasse product and your determination to improve the world, one bicycle ride at a time.   Thank you and job well done.

Please look for your fulfillment survey in your email within the next two days.  This survey will confirm your shipping address, sizes, colors, and any items you might want to add-on.   We are considering a fulfillment partner to help manage the survey and collating the orders, so do not be surprised if you receive an email from BackerKit with your fulfillment survey.

Please message me with any questions of concerns!

Hello (Shell)backers!

I have two great pieces of news to pass to you.  First, we have met our funding goal of $36,563 and are continuing to add backers!!  This means our project is now 100% funded and we officially begin the process of backpack production for shipment in time for Bike to Work Month in May.  I will write more on that later.  Thank you all for your contributions, support, encouragement, and great ideas!  WE made it happen, together.

Secondly, we received our second product review from none other than bike luminary Jim Langley.  Among Jim's bona fides is that was the technical editor for Bicycling Magazine and is now the Technical editor of Road Bike Rider as well as Mechanical Engineer at Praxis Works Bicycle Components.  AND, Jim has ridden a bike every day for 23 years!  So Jim knows biking and the bicycle industry:

When the campaign ends, I will send out your fulfillment surveys so you can choose sizes, colors, and any accessories you might want to add.  Look for that early next week.

Congratulations, and as always, Win the Race!  ~ Aaron

Slow and Steady Shellback Poised to Win the Race
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Feb 04, 2020 at 06:56:49 AM

Greetings (Shell)Backers,

With 6 days remaining in our Kickstarter Campaign, we are less than $5,000 from our very ambitious goal.  With the exception of a big Day 1, we have steadily added backers, averaging around $1300 dollars a day pretty consistently.  With your help in the final week, we have the opportunity to meet and exceed our goal!  So please reach out to just one person and let them know about the unique features of the Shellback and growing the Bike to Work movement.

My second piece of news is very exciting!  We received our first major bike publication review of the Shellback this morning and I'm happy to share it with your here.

In the end, this is about increasing the number of bikers on the road and creating communities that make biking a viable transportation option.  I received an email earlier today that I believe really captures the essence of Teaspoons of Change:

"Well, not sure it means much to you but I was inspired and will be biking to work starting this spring. Granted it’s only 7 blocks across town, but it will be fun!"

As always, Win the Race!  ~ Aaron

Biking to Work Increases Lifespan

Greetings (Shell)Backers!

If you needed any confirmation of your outstanding investment in the Shellback Bike to Work backpack, see the enclosed report on the effects of biking instead of driving.  Bottom Line:  Biking to work reduces mortality by as much as 13%.  Public transit and walking had almost no effect, but the activity that really moved the needle was biking.  Congratulations again on a great life choice and getting the word out.

Teaspoons of Change: Week 1
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jan 28, 2020 at 07:56:43 AM

Hey Shellbackers, after 1 week we're doing great.  We're 1/3 done and over 1/2 funded.  Here's our Challenge for Week 2:  Get ONE other person to back this project.  It can be done.  Many people are on the fence and all they need is a little reminder or the hyperlink in their box to get them to commit.  Remember, this is not just to launch a backpack company, but to give a voice and a name to the Bike to Work movement!

Again, thankyou for your support and time; and Win the Race!
